The Console

Picture
The console had been moved around various storage locations in Stockholm, some with questionable quality. The console was finally located in the Musical Museum storage in a location outside Stockholm.
The inspection revealed  severe water damage. Some ivory had come loose and was missing. Lots of rust and dirt. The veneer had come loose in different places and all metal parts were rusty. Curious people had been poking around and many tin tubes for the combination action were bent and nicked. All bellows for the combination action were unusable, the zephyr skin destroyed.

Despite all this we considered that it was possible to restore.

Here it can be seen that the veneer had come loose due to water.
Picture
Most cables had been ripped out. A local blower (vacuum cleaner?) had been installed inside the console to deal with the combination action.
